This week’s Kutuby blog discusses a list of to-do’s for young Muslims to increase their chances of entering Jannah. Being kind and charitable, making a positive impact and reflecting on their actions are all part of this list. Read on to know more about this Jannah bucketlist!

Jannah is the ultimate goal of every Muslim. It is a place where believers are rewarded for their good deeds and live in eternal happiness and peace. As a young Muslim, striving to achieve this heavenly abode is essential. In this blog post, we discuss a bucket list of deeds that every young Muslim should ideally do to increase their chances of entering Jannah.

Perform the Five Pillars of Islam

As a Muslim parent, you want to give your kids the best possible Islamic education. At Kutuby Learning, we believe a strong foundation is necessary for young children’s religious growth and development. That’s why we focus on teaching the Five Pillars of Islam, which are the stepping stones of our faith and are mandatory for every Muslim to know and abide by. These Five Pillars include the declaration of faith, prayer, fasting, Zakat, and pilgrimage.

By performing these pillars, your child learns about their faith and ticks the first item on the bucket list to Jannah. Imagine the joy of seeing your child grow spiritually and become a well-rounded individual who learns about their deen and practises it. Sign up for Kutuby today and set your child up with a sound base in their faith.

Read and understand the Qur’an

A solid understanding of their religion is crucial for a child’s growth. You can do this by familiarising them with the Quran, the central text of Islam. The Holy Quran contains the teachings of Allah, and by reading and understanding it, young Muslims can tick another item off their bucket list to Jannah. Make family ritual of getting together and reciting and reflecting on the Qur’an. Even listening to it can reap so much ajar or good returns from Allah SWT. Al Qur’an and The Qariah App are some of the best apps out there that brings the recitations of world renowned Qur’an reciters to your fingertips.

At Kutuby, we have designed interactive and engaging lessons that will help your child read, understand, and appreciate the Qur’an. Our lessons are tailored to the age and understanding of children aged 5-7, making it easy for them to absorb the teachings of the Holy Book in a fun and interactive way.

Be kind and compassionate

Being kind and compassionate earns Allah’s favour. It opens up the doors of Jannah in some extraordinary ways.

Jabir reported that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ PBUH said, “Each act of kindness is sadaqa, and kindness includes meeting your brother with a smile and pouring from your vessel into your brother’s vessel.”

Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it.

- Mishkat al-Masabih 1910

Encourage children to show kindness and compassion towards others and be mindful of their environmental impact. It can be done through simple and fun activities like helping a neighbour, feeding stray animals, or picking up trash off the street. This way, they can also strike an item off their Jannah bucketlist.

Help the poor and needy

If you plan on getting into Jannah, add this deed to your bucket list.

Abu Hurairah RA reported that the Prophet ﷺ said,

“One who helps the widows and the poor is akin to the one who fights in the way of Allah.”

- [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Helping the poor and needy is a sure way to get to Jannah. Being cahritable towards those less fortunate is a highly distinguished act in the eyes of Allah SWT. Charity aligns with our beliefs and also helps to create a more balanced and equitable world for all. Participating in Sadaqah can earn good deeds and bring positivity into our communities. Whether it’s through volunteering at a local soup kitchen or donating to a global organisation, young Muslims can go one step ahead in their bucket list to Jannah through Sadaqah and charity. Here is our blog on how you can make an impact through Sadaqah Jariyah.

Reflect on one’s actions

Reflection is crucial in order to improve oneself. It allows us to take a step back, assess our actions, and see if they align with the teachings of Islam. By reflecting on their deeds, young Muslims can learn accountability and the right way to seek Allah’s mercy. This process of self-reflection and self-improvement is essential for attaining Jannah.

You can encourage your children to reflect on their actions and intentions in a number of ways. Set aside time each day or week for personal reflection or to keep a journal where they can document their thoughts and actions. Sit down as a family and discuss one activity of the day that you would like to reflect on. Read this blog to learn how you can raise a family that loves Islam.

Creating a Jannah bucket list for young Muslims can be a powerful way to focus on their efforts towards this ultimate goal. Have you made a bucket list for Jannah yet? What else would you like to be there? Let us know by clicking here.
